For me, it is the end of another year. Tomorrow is my birthday, and I'm looking forward to new and exciting adventures. My dear boyfriend, Bob, offered to cook dinner for me - his special stir-fry recipe. I'm a vegetarian so this is a blessing. Plus he bought a banana cream pie for desert (no cake for me). It looks like we'll be watching another documentary about the Arctic.
Yes, we watch movies almost every night. A miner who lives downriver loaned us his set of environmentalist DVDs about the Arctic and Alaska. We watched the first one tonight. It showed a group on a lovely sailing ship going through the Northwest Passage, from the St. Lawrence Seaway and Atlantic, to the Pacific. Because the ice is melting they were able to get all the way through. They were only the seventh expedition to do that. Even though the ice was melting there was lots of ice so that slowed them down more than once. There were some great shots of polar bears, seals, birds, and caribou.
Today I worked seven hours... I work in a pizza restaurant. This is not what I went to college for, but still I love it. I do enough work on my computer at home to make it preferable for me to have a different kind of work outside my home.
You know, I'm such a newbie at Xanga I have no idea what "User Tags" are compared to "Tags". Is there a help file around here somewhere? I should probably read it.
Ever heard of FriendFeed? I've been joining a lot of Web 2.0 sites lately. Xanga is one of them. Well, FriendFeed is really cool... it is a feed amalgamation thing. It takes feeds from lots of other Web 2.0 sites (too bad, not from Xanga unless I can find a RSS feed around here somewhere. It WILL take blog feeds. Also it takes feeds from Digg, Del.icio.us, Twitter, YouTube, Google Reader, and lots of other places. Even Netflix and I AM a Netflix junkie. Anyhow, FriendFeed puts out notes on all these apps, and you can friend people there and see their notes. And best of all, you can make comments about your notes or those of your friends. I was so jazzed about FriendFeed I made a Squidoo page about it:
How To Use FriendFeed.
[Update: I found the RSS feed and added my Xanga to my FriendFeed!]
